Cancer Biology Scientist

Tegmine is an early-stage, well-funded, startup that’s going to restore futures lost too soon.  We believe that the high cost of healthcare can be addressed by mixing biology, technology, and machine learning.

We’re seeking a scientist in the field of cancer biology to advance our target discovery efforts to develop ADC and CAR-T therapies. The scientist will be responsible for developing models of target proteins and expanding our tissue and model cell line banks. 


Responsibilities

  • Employment of biological knowledge to assess protein suitability as an antibody, ADC, or CAR-T target.
  • Target validation:
    • Vector design, verification of protein localization, purification of proteins using standard affinity techniques.
    • Immunoprecipitation based protein enrichment.
  • Management of specimens:
    • Selection of relevant tumor specimens from tissue banks.
    • Establishment of relationships with clinicians to obtain primary specimens.
    • Growth of cell lines for target validation and screening.


Requirements

  • M.S. with 4-6 years laboratory experience or Ph.D. in Cancer Biology, Cell Biology, or related field.
  • Ability to clearly communicate goals and results.


Preferences

  • Multi-channel flow cytometry and cell sorting.
  • Cell line creation with lentivirus vectors.
  • Developing immunohistochemistry reagents.
